From the interactive weapons and vehicles to new Tier Armor sets and weapons. The Paladin that players (of WarCraft III: The Reign of Chaos and WCIII: The Frozen Throne) watched fall from grace in his quest for revenge is back bringing his Death Knights and legion of Scourge to the land of Azeroth with him. The title says it all. Personally I gave the game a five overall, as with my other reviews of WoW and TBC, not just for gameplay and replay value, but also because I am extremely biased and think that Arthas is the greatest villain in the WarCraft series. In the second expansion to the highly addicting MMORPG, players can now reach level 80 questing in the frozen wastes of Northrend. Alot of people were disappointed by this expansion and I cannot see why, WotLK added completely new content to the game and change a lot of the game's elements. (Don't believe me, read Arthas: Rise of the Lich King and see for yourself). I highly recommend World of WarCraft (TBC) and Wrath of the Lich King to all gamers around the world.
What you get addicted to is dopamine - a little pleasure hormone that is broadcast around your brain when you receive a reward. My sister doesnt speak with me anymore. They just make any effort to keep you there without any particular long-term purpose. put a warning on this game about its addictive nature.
The same happened to several my friends. In my opinion they should make this game illegal or put a tax on it like on tobacco or alcohol. The size of the world for example is optimized so that you can run for the longest time from one side to the other without getting pissed and leaving the game. The main goal of the creators of the game is that you spend the maximum amount of time playing it. I had a mistake once of giving my account to my nephew as a birthday gift.
This is worse than heroin for them, because soon you discover that you cannot leave this little series of puffs. An addiction develops. Our brains are not ready to handle this. The game itself is an infinite grind without a goal. This is to let your brain know that you did something good.
In wow you get rewarded little-by-little every time you kill a little or a big monster or play a player-versus-player game. This game is worse than heroin. I played this game since 2005. I quit a few months ago and had horrible headaches for a few weeks.
So if you are buying this "product" for someone its better be your enemy. I would NEVER recommend a parent to buy this game for his/her kid. At some point heroin was legal but eventually the law caught up with it.
The game is optimized to get you addicted. EDIT: wowdetox is a volunteer-run website that contains 45k+ testimonials of ppl addicted to wow or those who successfully defeated the addiction. In normal life you dont get rewarded so often because of real-life constraints.
So you get a little puff of dopamine every five minutes. At least the government should (and believe me will). Read some before you buy.
They have added an entire continent of ground to cover and have more than ample storyline to carry you through each area and on to the next as you level your characters in Northrend. I completely enjoy what blizzard has done with the wrath of the Lich king. The collectors edition is a worthwhile purchase as you get a taste of the card game, the sound track, a mouse pad and map(please dont taste the map). The look and feel of the game is excellently done , the new class is a lot of fun , and the new zones are a blast. The updates to the game are always adding and tweaking but the core of this expansion has remained true. And in my opinion the best part is the included artbook.I play very casually and while it has almost been a year since release I still have fun in the expansion as do my friends that play easily 5 times more than I do. I still find quests that have surprising or just plain fun endings and run into npc characters that poke fun at movies and games that most people will know.
The Wrat of the Lich King: Collector's Edition is a must have for every dedicated player out there. Just incredible. Do not hesitate to buy it. And don't forget that the in-game pet (Frosty) will be next to you in every character you make within your WoW account. The soundtrack is awesome and the "behind the scenes" DVD as well. Well done Blizzard.
A must have for all WoW players. It provides more content and a superb amount of fun.
